Terms & Conditions

Last updated 5 August 2026 · Applies worldwide to every Vonen member.

1. International non-commercial peer-to-peer cost sharing

VONEN is an independent digital communications registry. It operates strictly as a non-commercial expense-sharing network designed to let private co-travelers voluntarily divide direct vehicle operating costs, fuel expenses, and local transit tolls (including UAE Salik, European highway tolls, and international airport congestion charges).

No rider, host or ride initiator may make any profit whatsoever from a ride. The total amount collected from all participants may never exceed the actual, verifiable cost of that single journey, and each participant may only ever be asked for their fair proportional share of that cost. Any surplus, mark-up, service fee, tip request, commission, surge pricing or fixed premium fee is expressly prohibited.

Operating as an unlicensed commercial transport provider, or demanding more than a fair, equal split of the actual transit cost, is strictly illegal under local transport guidelines worldwide (including UAE RTA rules, UK Public Passenger Vehicle regulations, and US state ridesharing frameworks). Users remain solely responsible for following the transport laws of every country in which they ride.

Any attempt to commercialize a ride pool, in any amount, will result in immediate, permanent account termination.

2. Global limitation of liability & platform indemnification

VONEN operates strictly as a software intermediary and does not own, manage, or operate transport fleets, nor does it employ, vet, or background-check drivers or passengers. All ride pools are independent, voluntary social arrangements coordinated solely between individual platform users at their own risk.

VONEN assumes zero legal, financial, or operational liability for missed flights, delayed duties, vehicular accidents, personal disputes, property damage, or financial disagreements occurring during a shared journey anywhere in the world.

By using this service, users completely waive their right to pursue legal action against VONEN and its developers across all international jurisdictions.

3. Jurisdiction, governing law, and local compliance

Users are independently and solely responsible for complying with the local transportation, ride-sharing, carpooling and cost-sharing laws of the specific country, state, and city where each trip takes place, including UAE RTA regulations and all equivalent worldwide frameworks.

Any dispute arising from the use of the VONEN software platform shall first be raised with VONEN support and resolved in accordance with the applicable law of the user's own place of residence, without reference to the location of the platform's operators or developers.

4. Global data privacy and compliance charter

To preserve an elite, safe, and professional environment, users agree to provide authentic contact details. VONEN respects global data privacy frameworks, including the UAE Data Protection Law, EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and international privacy standards.

User profile information, including names, emails, and home locations, is strictly encrypted and used solely for operational ride-matching.

Falsifying employment information, mimicking airline domain emails (such as emirates.com), or engaging in harassment, discrimination, or malicious cancellations across any international market will result in swift global account termination.

5. Memberships and platform sustainability

VONEN may introduce optional paid memberships or subscription tiers. Any such membership is a fee paid solely to VONEN for the operation, hosting, security, maintenance and continued development of the software platform and its features. It is never a payment for transport, a booking fee, a commission, or any part of a journey's cost.

Membership never entitles a member to earn, retain or receive money from other riders. Cost sharing between participants remains strictly at cost, and the no-profit rule in Section 1 applies equally to free and paying members.

Membership benefits are limited to software features (such as enhanced matching, additional filters, expanded history or priority support). Memberships are optional, may be changed or discontinued as the platform evolves, and the core cost-sharing functionality remains available without one.

6. Community house rules

  • Treat co-riders with respect. Harassment, discrimination, intoxicated or unsafe behaviour and impersonation lead to permanent removal.
  • Women-only rides may only be joined by members who identify as women.
  • Crew badges indicate a verified work email domain only — they are not an identity, background or employer verification.
  • Every fare shown is an estimate. Actual cost varies with traffic, route, tolls and time of day.
  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile page.

By creating an account, posting a ride or joining a ride you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.
